Leon spent the first part of his life playing in the beautiful forests of Bowen Island, BC.
His acting career began in his late teens,
after relocating to the mainland, and attending Vancouver Film School to
study acting. But before the film and television world could snatch him up, Leon
discovered that he could sing, and found himself suddenly thrust into
the world of musical theatre.
Finding his true calling on the stage,
Leon has gone on to perform in over 100 stage productions, and is a
proud member of Canadian Actors Equity Association.
When Leon isn’t in character, he is busy helping to run Live Out Loud
Theatre, founded by his wife, KJ Konkin. The couple met in 2007, while
playing opposite each other in Anything Goes at The Chemainus Theatre
Festival. One thing led to another, and the pair found themselves in
Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan for purposes of real estate investment, but soon found
plenty of artistic reasons to stay.
Since starting Live Out Loud
Theatre, the company has gone on to teach workshops all over the
province of Saskatchewan
and produce four professional productions.
With Leon's other interests in real estate and travel, some dreams
include: owning a property in every province, owning a tropical
paradise, and a theatre space or loft that can be used by all the amazing
artists he knows.
Leon is happy to return to television to host the documentary Finding Al.
